Connection Church Celebrates Six Month Anniversary

I am Todd Henderson, pastor of Connection Church. My wife Sheri and I, along with our two children Austin (15)and Abbie (12) responded to an opportunity to plant a church in Marana in July 2007. After 17 years of pastoring established churches, planting a church was definitely a new adventure. When we came to Marana, we had to start from zero. It was just our family and a vision to plant a church that would meet the needs of young families. After several divinely inspired conversations with those who were interested, we started a Bible study in January, 2008. In October of the same year, we held 4 preview services, to see what kind of response we could expect. So, after some hard work and the favor of God, Connection Church officially launched on November 1, 2008 with 79 people in attendance.

As we celebrate our 6-month anniversary on May 1, 2009, we realize how much we are blessed by the people God has sent to us. They all have unique gifts, talents and abilities that have helped us offer a fantastic church service to the people of Marana. We have a very talented guitar-driven worship band, an awesome kid’s program called Kidz Connect and several other ministries designed to serve Marana. Our desire is to see families connect to God, one another and the community. We believe a personal relationship with Jesus is the most important decision you will ever make. We exist to create a non-judgmental, non-threatening atmosphere where that can happen.

Being at Connection Church is being with a family that will love you and walk with you during the good and bad times of life. It would be a pleasure to serve you and your family in any way we can. Consider this your invitation to come to Estes Elementary Saturday at 5 p.m. We would love to see you there! Connection Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God.

Finally, Sheri and I both work in the community. She is employed by MUSD as the principal’s secretary at Estes Elementary and I am employed by the Town of Marana in the Utilities Department.
